Allergens & Dietary Information
At Butter Tirana, we want every guest to feel informed and comfortable when dining with us. This page explains how we handle allergen and dietary information, what guests should tell us before ordering, and the limits of what we can guarantee in a working restaurant kitchen.
1. Important notice
If you have a food allergy, intolerance, medical dietary requirement, pregnancy-related restriction, religious dietary requirement, or any serious food sensitivity, please inform our team before ordering.
Do not rely only on website descriptions, menu names, social media posts, photos, or general dish descriptions. Ingredients, garnishes, sauces, oils, marinades, preparation methods, and suppliers may change.
Our team can help explain the current menu and check with the kitchen where needed.
2. Common allergens
Our kitchen may handle ingredients that contain or may come into contact with common allergens, including but not limited to:
Cereals containing gluten, including wheat, rye, barley, oats, spelt, and related grains.
Crustaceans, including prawns, shrimp, crab, lobster, and related shellfish.
Eggs and egg-based products.
Fish and fish-based products.
Peanuts and peanut-based products.
Soybeans and soy-based products.
Milk and dairy products, including lactose.
Nuts, including almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, cashews, pecans, Brazil nuts, pistachios, macadamia nuts, and related products.
Celery and celery-based products.
Mustard and mustard-based products.
Sesame seeds and sesame-based products.
Sulphur dioxide and sulphites.
Lupin and lupin-based products.
Molluscs, including mussels, clams, oysters, scallops, squid, octopus, and related products.
Other ingredients, spices, oils, alcohols, additives, or traces may also cause reactions for certain guests.
3. Cross-contact risk
Butter Tirana is not an allergen-free kitchen.
Even where a dish does not intentionally contain a certain allergen, cross-contact may occur during storage, preparation, cooking, plating, serving, or cleaning.
Shared equipment, cooking surfaces, fryers, grills, utensils, containers, knives, boards, ovens, fridges, and preparation areas may be used for different ingredients.
We take reasonable care when handling guest requests, but we cannot guarantee that any dish, drink, surface, utensil, or preparation area is completely free from allergens.
4. Guest responsibility
Guests are responsible for informing our team clearly and directly about any allergy or dietary requirement before ordering.
Please tell us:
The exact allergy or restriction.
The severity of the allergy or reaction.
Whether traces or cross-contact are unsafe for you.
Whether the request applies to food, drinks, desserts, sauces, garnishes, or shared plates.
Whether children or other guests at the table have separate dietary needs.
If your allergy is severe or life-threatening, please tell us immediately when making the reservation and again when arriving at the restaurant.
5. Reservations and special requests
If you have an allergy or serious dietary restriction, we recommend informing us when making your reservation.
You can include the information in the reservation notes or contact us directly before your visit.
For group bookings, private events, set menus, tasting menus, celebrations, or corporate bookings, allergy and dietary details should be shared as early as possible.
Late allergy requests may limit what we can safely prepare.
6. Menu changes
Our menu may change due to seasonal ingredients, supplier availability, kitchen preparation, private events, special menus, or operational reasons.
A dish that was suitable during a previous visit may not be suitable during a later visit.
Please confirm allergy and dietary information with our team every time you visit.
7. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and dietary labels
Where we describe a dish as vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, or suitable for another dietary preference, this refers to the intended ingredients of that dish.
These descriptions do not guarantee that the dish is free from traces or cross-contact unless our team confirms that the kitchen can safely handle the request for your specific situation.
Guests with medical allergies should always speak directly with our team before ordering.
8. Drinks and cocktails
Allergens may also be present in drinks, cocktails, wines, beers, spirits, syrups, garnishes, foams, cream, egg white, nuts, dairy, fruit, spices, and other bar ingredients.
Please inform our team about allergies before ordering drinks as well as food.
9. Shared plates and guest tables
Some dishes may be designed for sharing. If one guest at the table has an allergy, please tell our team before ordering shared plates.
Butter Tirana is not responsible for cross-contact caused by guests sharing food, drinks, utensils, plates, or condiments at the table.
10. Children
Parents or guardians are responsible for informing our team about children’s allergies, intolerances, or dietary requirements.
Please supervise children when food or drinks are served, especially where shared dishes, desserts, nuts, dairy, seafood, or hot items are present.
11. Medical advice
Information provided by Butter Tirana, our website, our team, menus, labels, or communications is not medical advice.
If you are unsure whether a dish or ingredient is safe for you, please do not consume it.
For medical questions, speak with a qualified healthcare professional.
